Who are susceptible to sleep disorders? Generally over weight people are prone to sleep disorders. People who have abnormal ear, nose or throat problems are also prone to sleep disorders due to lack of oxygen intake.
Habitual drinkers of alcohol are also likely to suffer from sleep disorder. Menopausal women also suffer from this disorder. Old men and women as well as people affected with depression and other mental conditions can be affected by irregular sleep patterns.
Sleep walking is another abnormal behavior in some. When they are in deep sleep they walk. The muscles of the body stiffen, the eyes move, the heart rate increases, breathing becomes more rapid and irregular, and the blood pressure rises. This can affect the person in the long run. Even substance abuse can cause sleep disorder. Treatment for sleep disorder There are three types of treatment for sleep disorder. Medication can be helpful in some severe cases. Many cases can be dealt with counseling and therapeutic treatment. Somatic treatment can also help in treating sleep disorders.
